Pride and Prejudice written by Jane Austen was a story that I was expecting to not love or have any interest in at all. I thought it would be an old english type of novel, so my expectations on this book was pretty low, but then as I started reading more and more made me want to finish reading the whole book. I bought the paper copy, and I enjoyed reading the book way more than what I thought I would. When I was beginning to read the book, the characters were being introduced, and Elizabeth was the character that stuck out to me the most, and she was described as the intelligent sister. I looked up to Elizabeth throughout the book, she was the sister that everyone in the family looked up to, she was not the oldest daughter but she just seemed like that sister you can go to for anything, and you know she will be there for you.
The book started off with the mother Mrs. Bennet trying to find husbands for her daughters, during this time period in this book getting your daughters married to wealthy men was important. The Bennet family consisted of Mr. Bennet, Mrs. Bennet, and their five daughters Jane, Elizabeth, Mary, Catherine, and Lydia. They are all unique in their own ways, and I feel like Jane and Elizabeth are mucha like, and Jane was referred to as the “most beautiful” sister in the story. Jane got engaged to the character Mr. Bingely and they were mentioned a lot throughout the book, and they were known as that couple. Elizabeth was getting married to Darcy. Darcy made it known that he really liked Elizabeth, and in chapter 6 is when they fully got introduced to each other and were able to have a conversation together as they were dancing.
Overall, the book was really enjoyable and I would totally recommend this book, and re-read it. I watched the movie over the weekend, and I fell more in love with the movie, I loved it and saying “i enjoyed the movie” is an understatement of it. My favorite scene of it all was the proposal of Darcy and Elizabeth. Of course in the movie it was a lot more dramatice, but I loved it and it just made me fall in love with this book and movie. There was never a dull moment and I think that is what I loved the most about this book. Thank you giving me the chance to read this book Mrs. Gonzalez, I now hold this move very close to my heart.
